These mothers, with their new babies, were attending a Dekalb County, Georgia, well-baby clinic. Note the film projector, which had just finished showing a movie related to infantile healthcare. Mothers who had attend these seminars, would learn about proper healthcare to be administered to their babies, including immunization schedules, diet, what to do for non-emergent healthcare concerns, and participate in the interaction between other new mothers. Well-baby clinics are public health, tax-supported medical facilities, which aid in childhood, as well as family health-related matters, usually at a reduced cost to visitors. They are most well known, for providing immunizations for childhood diseases including diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, polio, Haemophilus influenzae type-b, hepatitis-B, measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella.
