This image depicts the results on an antimicrobial sensitivity study involving two bacterial species of the genera, Kluyvera, which are members of the family of Gram-negative, Enterobacteriaceae, and how they behaved, when introduced to two antimicrobial agents, 100mg concentration of carbenicillin (left), and 30mg of cephalothin (right). At the top, two antimicrobial imbibed disks were placed atop a growth medium, which had been inoculated with the bacterium, Kluyvera cryocrescens, while below, two disks had been placed atop the medium inoculated with the bacterium, K. ascorbata. Above, the zone of inhibition exhibited by the K. cryocrescens in response to either antibiotic was greater than either zone of inhibition demonstrated by the K. ascorbata bacteria.
