Caption:
This male patient presented with both a case of molluscum contagiosum (MC), and genital warts, sometimes referred to as condylomata acuminata. Both are caused by a different viral pathogen. MC is caused by the DNA poxvirus known as the molluscum contagiosum virus (MCV), while genital warts are caused by some types of human papillomavirus (HPV). Note the characteristic erythematous MC lesion on the left, and the numerous genital warts located on the underside of the penis.
