This 2014 image depicted Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) microbiologist, Kitty Anderson, as she was looking at a 96-well plate used for testing the ability of bacteria to grow in the presence of various antibiotics. At this point in her observations, Ms. Anderson was using a circular mirror in order to view the underside of the well plate.
