This is the seventh in a series of images, PHIL 16989 through 17013, depicting a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Public Health Library and Information Center (PHLIC) exhibit entitled, Bringing the World Home: CDC’s Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs) Celebrate Peace Corps Week 02/23/14 – 03/01/14. The painting had been donated by RPCV, Lisa Guerrero, during her Volunteer work from 2005–2007, in the Dominican Republic. The painting was acquired in a marketplace located in the nation’s Colonial Zone. The brightly colored artwork is stylistically characteristic of the type of colorful imagery seen throughout the Caribbean.
