This is the twenty-fourth in a series of images, PHIL 16989 through 17013, depicting a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Public Health Library and Information Center (PHLIC) exhibit entitled, Bringing the World Home: CDC’s Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs) Celebrate Peace Corps Week 02/23/14 – 03/01/14. This display contained two volumes of a quarterly publication entitled, GringoGrita, that had been written and published by Peace Corps Volunteers (PCVs) in order to share their comical, and informative stories of life as a volunteer in the Dominican Republic. These magazines had been donated by RPCV, Lisa Guerrero, and acquired during her Volunteer work from 2005–2007, in the Dominican Republic.
