This image from 1968, depicted a public health worker at far left, who while at the residence of an elderly couple, was in the process of discussing rodent control with the housewife, while jotting down notes on a paper affixed to a clipboard. In this case, they were specifically discussing the control of a neighborhood rat population. Rodenticidal grain baits, if registered by the EPA, can be used in some instances to provide longer-term rodent control. One new rodenticide, cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3, has been registered for use in New Mexico and holds great promise for the control of field rodents involved in plague epizootics. Different formulations are shown in PHIL 14333.
