This historic 1977 photograph depicted a laboratory still life, highlighting the necessary ingredients used, when performing a chlorazol black E (CBE), also known as Kohn's stain, histochemical procedure on a fecal smear specimen, prior to its microscopic examination. Included amongst these ingredients is the chlorazol black stain, 95% alcohol, carbol-xylol, xylene, a mounting medium, a pair of tweezers, and a box of coverslips.
