This image from 1976, depicting a freshwater reservoir, was captured in order to be part of a project intended to increase the awareness of the public health hazards that may be caused by water resource developments. The project emphasized how to minimize, prevent, and control the occurrence of vector-borne diseases, as well as nuisance insect problems in general.
