This photograph depicts a close left lateral view of the thoracic region of a one-week-old infant, with a cutaneous rash on the baby’s chest, that was diagnosed as a case of erythema toxicum neonatorum. This rash had to be differentiated from that of staphylococcal pustulosis through the appropriate laboratory tests.
