This image depicts a close view of a patient’s left inguinal region, that exhibited a lesion known as a lymphatic bubo, which had undergone such a degree of swelling, that the overlying skin had ruptured, creating an ulcerative, draining lesion. A differential diagnostic study rendered a diagnosis of lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV), caused by the bacterium, Chlamydia trachomatis.
