Caption:
This image depicts a close anterior view of a patient’s right inguinal region, highlighting the presence of an enlarged inguinal lymph node, also known as a bubo, which had been diagnosed as a sexually-transmitted lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV) infection, caused by the bacterium, Chlamydia trachomatis. It is important to note the presence of a groove sign, caused by the extreme swelling of the lymph nodes pressing against the taught inguinal ligament, which causes a groove to form on the skin surface.
