Photographed in 1968, this image depicted the left hand of a laboratory technician, holding what at the time, was a newly produced system to be implemented, when performing a rapid, though highly accurate dilution, requiring only minute quantities of reagents. Any serologic type test could be adapted to this microdilution technique, including direct complement-fixation (CF), hemagglutination inhibition (HI), metabolic inhibition tests, Antistreptolysin O Titer (ASO), just to name a few.
