This historic image from 1974, depicted what was the Appalachian Laboratory for Occupational Respiratory Diseases (ALFORD), located in Morgantown, West Virginia. At the time of this photograph, this building had become a part of National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), with the passing of the 1970, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Act. See PHIL 708, for another view of this facility.
