Entitled, “PEPFAR in Uganda”, this image was created by CDC Health Scientist, USPHS Capt. Pamela Ching, MS, ScD. This photo, taken at a rural clinic and supplementary food distribution site in Uganda, shows mothers having their children weighed, as part of nutritional assessment to determine their eligibility to receive supplementary-fortified blended flour and oil. This photo earned Capt. Ching a tie for the Third Place award in the 2013 CDC Connects Annual Public Health in Action Photo Contest, in the category of “International Programs”.
