Entitled, “Behind the Scenes of the PHIL”, this image was created by CDC Inspector/Transportation Specialist, Debora Cartagena in the Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response, Division of Select Agents and Toxins, Program Services Branch. The image shows the photographer preparing biosafety equipment before photographing it for the Public Health Image Library (PHIL). Cartagena has supplied the PHIL with dozens of much-need images showcasing biosafety, biosecurity, healthy eating, and medical equipment. This photo earned Debora the Third Place award in the 2012 CDC Connects Annual Public Health in Action Photo Contest, in the category of “Domestic People and Programs”.
