Caption:
This image was captured in February 2013, on the Caribbean island nation of Haiti, located inside Haiti’s National Public Health Lab, Laboratoire National de Santé Publique, situated in the country’s capital, Port-au-Prince. This is a view, looking through the glass panel of a doorway leading into the secure tuberculosis laboratory, in which technicians obey strictly enforced sterility protocols, due to the highly contagious nature of Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria. Note the universally understood biohazard symbol affixed to the door’s exterior.
