Caption:
After having introduced radiopaque dye into the right and left ureters, by way of a procedure known as a retrograde urogram, this posteroanterior (PA) pelvic x-ray was executed, revealing pathologic changes in this Rome, Georgia tuberculosis patient’s right kidney. Note the abnormal dilatation of the right renal calyces, known as asymmetrical hydrocalycosis, as well as a dilated right ureter. The left kidney’s pelvis, and ureter, appeared to be normal. These findings are highly suggestive of a disease process known as renal tuberculosis, which was, indeed, the case.
