Using a fluorescent antibody (FA) staining procedure, this photomicrograph offers a side-by-side comparison between two fecal specimens. On the left, the specimen revealed the presence of numerous fluorescent-green, Escherichia coli O111:B4 bacteria, while the specimen on the right revealed unspecified, fluorescent-green, enterococci organisms.
