Caption:
This image depicted a close, left lateral view of a patient’s face, revealing the onset of a macular rash due to measles. This was the same man depicted, at an earlier stage of the infection, in PHIL 22148, which revealed his watery, reddish-colored eyes, and the appearance of a slight moist sheen on his forehead and cheeks, indicative of an increase in sweating, or diaphoresis, due to his feverish state. Here, the patient appeared to be in discomfort due to the infection.
