Caption:
This was a photomicrograph of a section of kidney tissue, which included an area of nephritis, or inflammation, in which you can see numerous white blood cells that had infiltrated the region, in order to perform their duty as removers of the necrotic, dead kidney cells. On the left you can see what could be described as normally appearing renal tubule cytoarchitecture, which as you gaze towards the right, dissolved into disarray, with a disintegration of the normal tubular infrastructure. The reason for this condition was not made evident.
