Winnifred Collins pointing to numerical scales on the SAD, SA/C Calculator, a circular slide-rule device used in the formulation of insecticides, rodenticides, and pesticides. The device was invented by U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) and CDC staff members Captain Harold G. Scott, PhD, and epidemiologist Lee Hunter, DVM, MPH.
