This photomicrograph of a hematoxylin-eosin (H&E)-stained tissue specimen shows histopathologic changes consistent with rhinosporidiosis caused by Rhinosporidium seeberi. In this view, numerous small trophocytes with granular cytoplasm are present, along with a mature sporangium containing daughter cells (endospores).
