This image shows an intraoral view revealing oropharyngeal inflammation in a patient with diphtheria caused by Corynebacterium diphtheriae. An adherent gray pseudomembrane is visible on the left tonsil and adjacent pharyngeal mucosa, a characteristic finding that can obstruct the airway and impair swallowing.
