This image depicts a close view of the right lateral thigh of a 14-month-old male child. A rectangular skin graft is visible on the anterior thigh, along with an ulcerative lesion on the lateral thigh diagnosed as pyoderma gangrenosum (PG). The wound site was infected with a Pseudomonas species. The patient subsequently developed Pseudomonas meningitis and sepsis. See PHIL 23730 for another view of this patient’s condition following a more extensive skin grafting procedure encompassing both the original graft site and the PG lesion.
