Caption:
This image depicts a close left lateral view of the left thigh of a 14-month-old child. Striated erythematous patches represent prior skin graft harvest sites. A pitted lesion surrounded by erythema is present and was diagnosed as pyoderma gangrenosum (PG). A similar PG lesion developed on the lateral right thigh, as shown in PHIL 23729–23731. The PG wound site was infected with Pseudomonas species, and the patient subsequently developed Pseudomonas meningitis and sepsis.
