Captured in 1954, this historic image depicted what had been a long range aids to navigation, or LORAN Station, that had been located on Kwajalein Island, a member of the islands that comprise the Kwajalein Atoll, in the 14th CG District of Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI). LORAN is a long distance radio-navigation land station that transmits synchronized radio wave pulses.
