These three test tubes appeared to contain a glucose-based growth medium, which had each been inoculated with a mutant variant of the fungal organism, Madurella mycetomatis, formerly known as Madurella mycetomii, strain 3652. You can see the various growth patterns exhibited by each of the variants of the same strain.
