Under low magnification, this photomicrograph shows a culture plate specimen containing cornmeal Tween® 80 agar (CMTA) inoculated with the fungal organism Candida glabrata (formerly known as Torulopsis glabrata). The small, discrete colonies are characteristic of this species. On CMTA, the organism reproduces by budding only.
