Caption:
This image shows a close left lateral view of the buttocks, lower back, and upper posterior thigh region. A diffuse rash is visible, consistent with urticaria pigmentosa (maculopapular cutaneous mastocytosis). A small area of erythema is present on the left upper buttock, elicited by rubbing the skin (Darier sign), a characteristic feature of this disorder. These red macular lesions represent abnormal accumulations of mast cells.
