At higher magnification than shown in PHIL 24757 and 24758, this photomicrograph reveals histopathologic features of a tissue section from a patient with rhinosporidiosis caused by Rhinosporidium seeberi. Shown here is a mature sporangium with a thick wall containing numerous endospores at varying stages of development; immature endospores are located at the periphery, while mature endospores are more centrally positioned.
