“As a Quarantine Public Health Officer”, says Lisa Poray, “I go to the International Mail Unit at the Post Office, where there is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection area that x-rays all the incoming mail and packages that enter the U.S. Sometimes Customs leaves packages for the Quarantine Station to open. Some of the packages are quite surprising. As you can see a few months ago I opened this one, containing five skulls. Customs puts aside items that are CDC-Regulated. These five skulls were released, and sent on their way.
