This 2019 image, depicted Lead microbiologist (in white) from the Diagnostic and Laboratory Systems Program (DLSP) Microbiology Laboratory, performing inoculation of biochemical media, in order to aid in identification of enteric bacteria from stool samples, harvested from various locations in the informal settlement of Kibera, Kenya. This laboratory supports practical experience for local university students, here wearing yellow gowns, on location for their educational program’s requirements.
