This image depicted a close view of the left foot of a seated child, highlighting abnormalities that had manifested due to a rare recessive genetic disorder referred to as Donohue syndrome, formerly referred to as leprechaunism. Affected individuals may present with a thickening and bronzing of the skin, both of which can be seen in the case of this 3-year-old boy.
