This photograph depicts a dorsal view of a patient’s left foot, highlighting a dermatophytosis (ringworm) infection caused by the fungus Trichophyton rubrum. Note the characteristic findings, including crusted skin overlying the metatarsophalangeal (MP) joints and toes. The image was captured prior to treatment with the antifungal medication griseofulvin. See PHIL 25391 for a view of the same foot after treatment began.
