This image depicts a frontal view of the surface of a human hair bait culture plate inoculated with the fungus Microsporum nanum. Note the fuzzy coating on the hair filaments, indicating fungal colonial growth. This M. nanum inoculum was derived from a Pennsylvania hog lot soil sample (no. 10).
