Caption:
Under low-power magnification (16X), this photograph highlights morphological features of the fungus Nannizzia obtusa grown on a soil-hair culture plate. Note the fuzzy cleistothecia produced by this organism, which were induced by mating a Pennsylvania swine isolate of Microsporum nanum (45-814-63) with a monoascospore strain of N. obtusa (strain 461).
