This photograph depicts a close anterior view of the cubital region of a patient’s flexed left arm, highlighting a cutaneous rash composed of numerous punctate erythematous lesions. Two days prior, the patient sustained more than 100 bites from grain itch mites, Pyemotes ventricosus. It was not definitively determined whether the rash resulted from the mite bites or from the use of diphenhydramine (Benadryl). The rash also involved the skin of the left lower abdomen.
