This photograph depicts a close anterior view of the skin over the left chest region of a patient, highlighting a cutaneous rash composed of numerous punctate erythematous lesions. Two days prior, the patient sustained more than 100 bites from grain itch mites, Pyemotes ventricosus. It was not definitively determined whether the rash resulted from the mite bites or from the use of diphenhydramine (Benadryl). See PHIL 26543 for another view of this patient’s condition.
