This photomicrograph of a blood specimen was processed using periodic acid–Schiff (PAS) stain with a hematoxylin-eosin (H&E) counterstain, revealing numerous normal sideroblasts. Note the blue-tinted granules, a normal finding within these red blood cell (RBC) precursors.
