This photograph depicts a close view of four slant culture tubes, each containing Difco Casitone agar supplemented with starch. The cultures were used to help identify unidentified Actinomyces species by subjecting them to biochemical testing. Tube A was inoculated with strain A-13-R, Tube B with strain A-13-S, Tube C with strain X407, and Tube D with strain A601. See PHIL 27630 for the results of the starch hydrolysis test.
