This photograph depicts a close view of two slant culture tubes, each containing Difco Casitone agar supplemented with starch. The cultures were used to help identify unidentified Actinomyces species by biochemical testing. Tube C was inoculated with strain X407, and Tube D with strain A601. See PHIL 27632 for the results of the starch hydrolysis test.
