This photograph depicts STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) teachers participating in a laboratory testing activity from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) NERD (novel, emerging respiratory disease) Academy curriculum, during the 2023 CDC Science Ambassador Regional Training Workshop. The workshop was hosted for California middle and high school STEM teachers, in collaboration with the UC San Diego Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science in San Diego, California.
