This was a photomicrograph of a lymph node anthrax impression smear, which had been processed using a fluorescent antibody (FA) staining technique, with 252-globulin. The specimen was viewed using UV-2 lighting, along with a blue filter. Note the rod-shaped Bacillus anthracis bacteria amongst the lymph node’s cellular debris.
