This frontal view of a Petri dish culture plate shows a large colony of the dermatophytic fungus Trichophyton mentagrophytes, cross-strain TM20 × TM17. The colony displays a granular white coloration with a perimeter edge that feathers into the Sabouraud dextrose agar (SDA) growth medium. See PHIL 19596 for a reverse view of this colony.
