Caption:
This photograph shows a close frontal view of a CDC Lombard-Dowell (LD) Presumpto Plate II quadrant plate, focusing on the quadrant containing LD agar supplemented with powdered skim milk. This quadrant was inoculated with an unspecified anaerobic bacterium to assess casein hydrolysis. A positive reaction produces a zone of clearing in the opacified milk surrounding bacterial growth on the agar surface; here, the result is interpreted as a weak positive milk reaction.
