This photograph shows a close frontal view of a CDC Lombard-Dowell (LD) Presumpto Plate II quadrant plate, focusing on the quadrant containing LD agar supplemented with glucose and gelatin. This quadrant was inoculated with an unspecified anaerobic bacterium to assess gelatinase production. A positive reaction produces a zone of clearing in the cloudy agar surrounding bacterial growth on the agar surface; here, the result is interpreted as a weak positive gelatin reaction.
