This photograph shows a close frontal view of a CDC Lombard-Dowell (LD) Presumpto Plate I quadrant plate containing LD egg yolk agar (EYA). Each quadrant was inoculated with a different unspecified anaerobic bacterium to assess enzymatic activity. Quadrant 1 demonstrates a lecithinase-positive reaction, quadrant 2 a lipase-positive reaction, and quadrant 3 a proteolytic (protease) reaction, while quadrant 4 shows no reaction, indicating a negative result.
