Captured in 1960, this historic image shows two Centers for Disease Control (CDC) laboratorians seated in the former Respirovirus Unit laboratory, diluting serum samples for hemagglutination testing to identify viral isolates. On the left is Wilma Yarbrough, and on the right is Avis Graham. At the time, pipetting was performed by the oral method, a practice no longer in use.
