This historic image, captured in 1963, depicts a handwritten poster announcing the availability of a free oral polio vaccine (OPV), administered on site to children 5 months to 5 years of age. The hours of operation for the vaccination site are also provided. This photograph was taken in the port city of Georgetown, Guiana (officially the Co-operative Republic of Guyana), during the country’s polio vaccination campaign.
